Look at the Alhambra. Walks and Impressions is a deeply personal artistic journey through some of the most iconic—and some unexpectedly hidden—corners of the Alhambra, in the city of Granada. This extraordinary monument is a unique fusion of architecture, gardens, stories, and legends.

Watercolor artist Olimpia Manjón, a native of Granada, invites us to walk alongside her through the woods, palaces, and chambers of the Alhambra. Like any curious traveler, she pauses often—not just to admire, but to reflect, to engage in silent conversation with the space, and ultimately to capture her impressions through delicate and expressive watercolors.

This book, a small artistic gem, blends well-known views of the Alhambra with fresh perspectives, all interpreted through the artist’s unique lens. Her sensitivity and deep admiration for Nasrid art shine through in her detailed recreations of the palaces, gardens, and surroundings of the Alhambra, as well as its evolution over time. Some works are inspired by direct observation and long walks, others by careful research or personal reflection.

Each watercolor is accompanied by brief commentary—sometimes historically detailed and meticulously documented, other times whimsical, curious, or even imagined. The book follows a path divided into four walks: the surroundings of the Alhambra, the gardens and the Generalife Palace, the Alcazaba, and finally, the Nasrid Palaces.
